Summer Stitching Project

Our family vacation is a trip to the beach this year.  I love sitting under the umbrella at water’s edge and  reading a great mystery. However, when the sun goes down, and we’re back inside, I need something to stitch.

This summer I have a lighthouse to needlepoint.

The artist could have been on either coast of the United States when she drew this timeless design.  The clouds in the sky and the sailboat in the water are therapeutic for a busy mind. Also. there is no counting involved with needlepoint.

Needlepoint is easier for me to stitch without a frame than cross-stitch. I know my work will need blocking when I finish, but that’s fine. I don’t want to pack a large piece on stretcher bars for this trip.
