Summer Project

My Lighthouse needlepoint is stitching up quickly. I know it’s because I really enjoy needlepoint and this time the canvas isn’t in stretcher bars. The project had to be easy to transport because it has to travel in my carry-on bag on the plane.  The Lighthouse has also been to the local water park and waited with me at the orthodontist office.

This is the first time in several years that I haven’t used stretcher bars and it’s fun to not be restricted with how I support the canvas when stitching. The finished project will, no doubt, need to be blocked. That’s not too hard, though, with a good blocking board. Sometimes a piece will require a second round of blocking, but that’s easy too.
