Like reading books, I usually work on one needlework project at a time. Until I got into the background of a needlepoint project. The canvas is really a bit small for the Tapestry yarn I’m using so the needle requires more tugging to complete the stitch. This makes my fingers really tired.

Then I got an email from a stitcher who explained her Work in Progress. She has a regular rotation of about four or five projects at a time. She works on a different one each time she gets a chance to stitch. That way she can tackle harder projects that she knows will be a challenge for that night and maybe she can reward herself with a project she loves working on the next night.

What a great idea! Tonight, I can work a bit on my Persian wool background then tomorrow let my fingers relax a bit with putting blending filament on the clouds in my Lighthouse. The next night will be time to start my Christmas Ornaments.

WIP Rotation might be well known to most of you, but I hadn’t heard of it until recently.
